Amidst the shadows
In the silence of night
The sum of our fears
Materialize…

No sun to warm the skin,
No smile to soothe the soul,
Just shadows of darkness,
The unconscious self wakened…

The façade of confidence,
Slowly fades into the night.
Loneliness the reality,
The mind lost in self doubt.

It weaves insidiously,
Relentless is its power.
In silence our souls hunger,
Fears shrouded in the night.

Tormented by a self portrait,
Exposing flaws and imperfections…
Alone cloaked in shadows,
Battling against self despair…

Vanity yearns for perfection,
The ego craves validation,
The heart aches for love,

Loneliness-Looking at the gray sky,
Often I sit alone.
No one to talk to
Even when I ask them to.
Life is like a dark room to me.
I feel worthless and empty inside.
No one is there for me
Even when I\'m feeling down.
Seeing all this in me makes me realize that
So lonely am I.

LonelinessShe sits alone at night,
Accompanied by her loneliness.
It touches her hand,
And has a hold on her heart.
No one can come in,
And she can't get out.
Her savior is buried beneath the soil,
Labeled by a stone that read,
"Here Lies a Loving Husband"
Marking the beginning of her loneliness.

His soul once carried her to heaven,
And his love kept her feet on the ground,
And his pressence kept her warm,
On those cold winter nights.
Lonely was not an emotion she possessed.

She held his hand,
From day one to the end,
The night he took his last breath,
She kissed his forehead,
And whispered of her love.

Where were you? What were you doing?
As I waited in the darkness, in the bitterness of the cold.
I waited for you hour after hour, and it started to rain.
I loved the rain; it hid my tears and shadowed my pain

As I cry, then the rain would be there for me, to cry along with me.
I looked up to the sky, as rain showered upon me.

I felt so alone, I felt so cold,
I felt as thought my life had escaped my hold...

Definition of LonelinessLoneliness - the state of being alone in solitary isolation.

That's the definition, according to the web.
What they neglect to cover, is that you can feel this state of being alone, even when you're not.

Loneliness - Being in a social situation, but not having anyone to trust, or talk to.

Loneliness - Having friends, family and lovers that seem to care for you and love you, yet something in your gut keeps you from connecting with them on a deeper level.

Loneliness - The feeling you get after someone you gave everything to, whether it be friend or lover, leaves you.

Dictionaries should do more research.

The fears and doubts about myself,
Exposed for all to see.

I sit awake, my eyes are sore,
My knees held tight to chest.

Somehow the rooms seem darker now,

You feel her in the bottomless pit,

Which engulfs your mind.

The look on your face bewilders everyone.
The anger, the hostility,
You wish to rid your mind and soul of her,
But you do not succeed,
She is a curse.

People see it on your face and you sense it in you blood,
You fail to hid the way she affects you,
There is no escape from her or the feeling of lonel

Self InjurySelf Injury

Thick red streams running down my arm
Recollecting to growing drops at my fingertips
The shiny new razor blade in my hand
Covered in blood, skin and flesh of my own

Watching how the drops are getting heavier with amazement
In slow-motion they are falling to the ground
Hungrily the carpet is soaking up each and everyone
The pool of blood at my feet getting bigger and bigger every second

Seconds passing like minutes, minutes like hours
The steady flow is slowing down with every heartbeat
The cuts are running dry, the streams are turning brown
A feeling of relief is making it's way through my body

Yet everywhere is stranger's faces,
Hurrying to their busy places.
So our life takes many bends,
Meeting, making, and losing friends.

dear best friend.there is something so beautiful about you. i think thats why i love you.
you give me something to think about, to laugh about, to cry about, to rant about. you let me know that i'm actually living and i have a reason to be smiling at all the silly things i do.

you piss me off. you irritate me to no end. you are so god damn self centered and so arrogant and so god damn adorable i can't begin to tell you how many times i would pull down the stars just to see you smile or to get a god damn kiss or hug.

Sitting here with my head
in my hands
Crying tears that shouldn't
have escaped
Talking to myself again
Thinking there's someone
here with me

Feeling emptiness within
Trying to replace what should
have been
Imagining a place in time
Happy with this life of mine

Sadness all around me
Seeping into my soul
Aching for attention
It's taking control
Seeking revenge on
the should have been

Psychotic with this pain
Homicidal to myself
I can't win in this life
Forever losing in this fight
Surrendering to the lies
I've lost the strength to cry
